Wendy Wilson is a California native, born and raised in Alameda. (It's a small island off the coast of Oakland) Wendy spent time living abroad where European artistic sensibilities, as embodied in the French Nouveau works of Guimard and the Catalan Modernisme of Gaudi, meshed with an innate love of American exemplars of craftsmanship ( particularly the works of Tiffany, Wright, and the Greene brothers) to inspire a true dedication to creating new and exiting glassworks in the artesian tradition.
Not limited to solely creating new works, Wendy is equally at home with traditional and modern styles in art glass, and her extensive knowledge of both glass and glassworks construction has allowed her to do restoration work throughout the San Francisco Bay Area including the door of the former home of Henry J Kaiser, the beveled doors of Alameda's historic Croll's Building, the chapel windows at Oakland's Fairyland as well as many other privately-owned original windows (some dating as far back as the mid-18th century!)
Wendy approaches each piece, be it new commission or restoration, as a unique opportunity, bringing her creativity, talent and focus to the challenge.
